Both Balgair, with Tom Clover and Bullington Boy, trained by Jane Chapple-Hyam have been entered at Great Yarmouth on Monday 29th June.
Balgair is entered in the Follow At The Races handicap over one mile, for horses rated 61-80, and although he is entered 81, so long as there is not a full house, in this case, 14 runners rated below him, then they allow horses rated one or two pounds higher to get in the race. In this instance, there are only 17 entries and three of them are rated 81 or 82 so it is highly likely that he will get in comfortably.
David Egan has been approached for the ride though it will depend upon where Roger Varian, who has first call on his services, decides to send him whether he will be able to ride. The race is currently scheduled for 3pm but is subject to change at the overnight stage.
Bullington Boy is also entered and he is in the Download the App, mile handicap for horses rated 0-65 at 3.30. He is guaranteed a run as there are only 12 entered, though significantly, Jane has also entered recent winner, Azets. Naturally we will discuss our strategy with her in the meantime.
So, an exciting day ahead and we’ll be doing a little homework on the opposition and will report back in due course.
Update 27th June:
Balgair, 9 runners declared for the one mile handicap at Yarmouth.
Bullington Boy, 7 declared
