Mustazeed wins at Yarmouth!

Mustazeed, trained by Chris Wall, won his race at Yarmouth on Wednesday afternoon and, one would have to say, after an idyllic morning at Charlie Fellowes’ where we saw Iconique in progressive mode, the result at Yarmouth in the afternoon rounded off an almost ‘perfect day’!

Mustazeed was made a hot favourite for his debut on turf and also over the new trip, for him, at 10f today. We were slightly concerned about the way the ground was drying up but a swift walk onto the track provided us with the knowledge that there was still just a tad of moisture still in the soil even though the sun was baking the grass above it.

The Territories 3yo looked a picture in the paddock before cantering nicely to start. However, he was slow out of the gates and, for a moment, looked like he had blown his chances.

However,  Jack Mitchell didn’t panic and gave the horse time he needed to make up the ground and although still last rounding the home turn, he showed a nice acceleration to put the race to bed very swiftly and came away nicely to win by three and a half lengths.

The handicapper will have his say, no doubt but we were absolutely delighted with his performance and already plotting his next target.

An excellent day’s work and his new owners had a most exciting day… Still shares available, get involved…
