Balgair raced for the club at Bath on Thursday evening and finished third to the well handicapped Mr Tyrrell and the improved Poetic Force.
Unfortunately, unlike Newmarket and, indeed, almost certainly because of the defectors and the subsequent smaller field, Jack Mitchell was unable to get any real cover and was always exposed on the outside of the field and although he made an effort to get involved from around two and half furlongs out but could never quite muster the pace to get up to the leader but, as is his wont, he stayed on very well again albeit to finish a close up third, beaten just over a length as this image indicates.
Balgair tried his heart out and once again we have to say that he has run a really good race. He has picked up a little prize money for the fourth time in as many runs and we’re sure will continue to do so!
