A recent winner on the flat, the handsome 5yo, Saachi has been a late maturing sort but, as he showed when winning recently at Wolverhampton, the penny has now dropped and this imposing sort is absolutely perfectly made for a NH career. Following four runs over hurdles in which he showed a great aptitude for jumping, he has recently schooled really well over fences, as well as hurdles now, and with that first success behind him we’re looking forward to a successful campaign under both codes. We have a few shares available in this gorgeous 5yo and, with year round action assured, he is a cracking proposition…

Saachi and Charlie Todd at Huntingdon

Following his move from Newmarket and the change of direction in Saachi’s career, we are delighted to offer you the opportunity to get involved with the small and friendly syndicate involved with this handsome, loveable 5yo who really has the make and shape about him to develop into a hugely successful NH type. Everyone that has ever had anything to do with him has complemented him on his manner, how light he is on his feet for such a big horse and how genuine he is.

Trainer, Ian Williams quickly got to know Saachi, a majestic looking animal whose immaturity and size impeded his flat career early on, but Ian conveyed he wasn’t finished with him on the flat as yet! A top trainer under both codes, Ian identified very quickly, the key to Saachi and, although he was sent to Ian, primarily for jumping, Ian had an astute plan for him and indicated clearly that he would win on the flat with him first. The first leg of that plan has been met with success….

In the meantime, Saachi’s schooling has been excellent, he jumps well, clearly with the scope to jump fences later on… So, with prospects in three different disciplines and a top trainer at the helm, Saachi offers plenty for year round action!!! Join in today!

________________________________

Previously…
Saachi spent the first two years of his career with top Group One winning trainer, Harry Eustace in Newmarket after being purchased at the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze-Up sale at Newmarket. A half brother to Jupiter Ammon of Andrew Baldings who cost 120,000 Guineas, he is by Advertise, out of a Shamardal mare, Beautiful Gesture who, herself, cost over 100,000 Guineas as a yearling and was trained by Karl Burke though unfortunately, after being placed at Newmarket on debut, she suffered an injury and was eventually retired to stud. She is from a prolific family and a sister to no less than SEVEN winners including black type performers, Pleasure Gains and Sarinda who, herself, was the dam Listed placed, Zain Sarinda.

Before being sent to Ian Williams, Saachi was placed a couple of times for us on the flat but, in truth, he never stopped growing and always had the look of a jumper about him. So, as we had always had faith in him, we re-routed him to pursue a dual purpose career with one of our oldest friends in racing but, also, as he has proven on numerous occasions, a proven trainer at the very highest level under both codes…

Ian Williams

Ian Williams’ experience ranges back as far as when preparing The Fellow, to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup as Assistant Trainer to Francois Doumen but, after setting up on his own, Ian has subsequently managed a feat unmatched by any current trainer in that he has trained a winner at every single racecourse in Great Britain. More importantly, Ian is now regularly to be seen with entries at all the big festivals whether they be flat or jumps. His CV is enviable, having had that experience with Doumen it was hardly surprising that he has saddled winners at both Aintreeand at the Cheltenham Festival and, more recently, Ian has just concluded his most successful year yet in 2025 which included winning races at Ascot, at our very own July Festival here at Newmarket and concluded the last turf season with a sensational success in the last big handicap of the year, when winning the Cesarewitch, here at Newmarket, with Beylerbeyi, beating off the fancied runners from the yards of Willie Mullins, Joseph O’Brien, Gordon Elliot, Charles Byrnes and Tony Martin.

If the first few months of 2026 are anything to go by, Ian can look forward to another record breaking year!!

Ian and ourselves go back quite a way and his recent success with Saachi now means our strike rate together continues to be perfect. We had previously sent Ian three horses, over the years, who started life in Newmarket and needed a change of scenery and in each of those cases, Ian found the key and won with them. They included Joey Tribbiani, who was a four time chase winner, including at Aintree, Monica Geller who won a valuable handicap at Windsor, on their feature Winter Hill stakes card, and Lemon Bridge, who won a decent handicap hurdle at Stratford for Ian before a couple of staying races on the flat, including at the Dante meeting at York. Now he has won with Saachi and made it four from four, we’re looking forward immensely to Saachi’s next success!!

Ian’s Dominion Racing Stables, though not Newmarket based, is located in beautiful countryside in the midlands and is very conveniently, and centrally, located for any number of racecourses under both codes. The yard itself boasts outstanding facilities including private gallops, an equine pool, and a huge indoor school and we felt this change of scenery and routine would do Saachi good and, of course, the proof of the pudding is in the eating!!!
