Saachi is a very handsome 3yo son of Champion sprinter, Advertise out of a Shamardal mare, Beautiful Gesture and from a prolific family full of stakes performers. The progressive 3yo has limitless potential being a beautifully made, big, strong, powerful sort but blessed with a simply brilliant temperament. He covers a lot of ground and is set for a hugely exciting season in 2024.

Saachi was purchased at the record breaking Tattersalls Guineas Breeze-Up sale at Newmarket in 2023 and is by first season sire, Advertise, a former European champion sprinter, by the pacy Showcasing and the winner of no less than THREE Group One’s including the Phoenix Stakes (Gp 1), as a 2yo and the Commonwealth Cup (Gp 1) at Royal Ascot, as a three year old.

Saachi is out of a nice Shamardal mare, Beautiful Gesture who, herself, cost over 100,000 Guineas as a yearling and was trained by Karl Burke though unfortunately, after being placed at Newmarket on debut, she suffered an injury and was eventually retired to stud. She is from a prolific family and a sister to no less than SEVEN winners including black type performers, Pleasure Gains and Sarinda who, herself, was the dam of Tom Clover’s Listed placed, Zain Sarinda.

Saachi, himself, is a big, strong, robust sort who has unlimited potential and has always looked the sort to make a much better three year old. He has now opened his 3yo season with another promising effort after one educational outing as a 2yo. He was put away for the Winter to allow him to develop and strengthen further and our very positive view about him was further confirmed when he made a most promising seasonal debut in April. This followed a similarly promising debut in November, at Kempton Park.

Racing on an unsuitable all weather surface, the highly experienced Kieran Shoemark took the ride at Kempton and although under instructions to look after him, Kieran expressed himself extremely pleased by the very likeable 2yo’s effort. He was effusive in his praise for him indicating he liked him and felt he could easily go and win before Christmas if we so wished. However, in agreement with trainer, Harry Eustace, we decided to stick to our original plan and give him the additional time over the Winter, to mature, with a view to an early start to his 3yo career. Kieran’s final comment, perhaps being the most illustrative point, especially bearing in mind the sort of 2yos he will have ridden this year from some of the biggest stable’s in the country, as he concluded with “I like him!”. You can hear Kieran’s comments for yourself below…

His first run of 2024, over 7f at Chelmsford showed Saachi had learned a lot from that first run and, apart from winning the award for the best turned out and why wouldn’t he, he really is a stunning beast, he ran with great credit again beaten only a head and a neck off third on a track that didn’t necessarily play to his strengths. Getting into the minor prizemoney when still not ready is a clear indication of his promise but he is expected to be an even better performer on turf, something we knew before his debut and wont mind a little juice in the ground. He has quality written right through him and after, initially bought for 56,000 euros, as a yearling, at the Goffs Orby sale in Ireland, we were really taken with him when sent to the Guineas Breeze up sales. A real powerhouse of a horse, with a great attitude to his work while being remarkably relaxed. We were very fortunate to acquire him in a well constructed purchase to race in our Royal Blue and Emerald Green colours and are excited by his tremendous potential. Most interestingly, his half brother, by New Bay fetched 120,000 euros when sent to the yearling sales last Autumn.

Saachi is, as indicated earlier, in training with one of the country’s most successful young trainers in Harry Eustace who, in a very short space of time has quickly established himself as one of the brightest young talents in the business. Son of former trainer James Eustace, a Group One winning trainer, Harry has quickly established himself at one of the town’s most historic yards in Newmarket at the family’s Park Lodge Stables but has recently moved into new quarters at one of the most prestigious yards on the famous Bury Road where many of the country’s top trainers reside including Roger Varian, Charlie Fellowes, Jane Chapple Hyam and John Gosden. Harry takes over from the Godolphin team at Highfields Stables and having already lit up Royal Ascot with winners in both his first and second seasons with a license, he will be looking to build on that fantastic foundation and has a very bright future ahead of him. Harry loves our, now, 3yo and like all of those who have had anything to do with him, loves his attitude to everything he does.

We are very excited by Saachi who has been given plenty of time to develop into his frame and now having furthered his education with a run in early April, he will be teed up by Harry, hopefully, to follow in the footsteps of our other inmate there, Mustazeed, now a winner of four. Like many of the first crop of Advertise, he has needed that time and, already gelded, despite his size and scope he is very easy to handle and manage and Harry has been delighted both with his progress as well as his great attitude and kind nature. He has also impressed his owners at our stable visits held at Park Lodge Stables (see video in ‘Media’ tab) and, now having had those educational outings, we cannot wait for him to fulfil his undoubted potential in his 3yo career. We’re really looking forward to seeing where he can take us in 2024 when we expect Saachi to advertise his talents to the public at large.

A really exciting sort and we cant recommend him or his Trainer highly enough. If you would like to get involved with this highly promising sort, please get in touch to arrange a viewing.

It is intended that Saachi will race through his 3yo season and then, dependent upon the wishes of the members of the syndicate, he will be sent to the sales at the end of his 3yo career whereupon his Owners may decide to sell him in what is a burgeoning market or to continue to race him, subject to annual re-assessment. This is always a personal choice but we feel it is important to provide the option to all members of the syndicate and the end of his 3yo career would be the opportune time to do so.

If you would like to discuss Saachi further, or make an appointment to see him please contact us at info@NewmarketRacingClub.com or call 01638 668350.
